De Ruijter was invited by 38CC because of his unorthodox vision on landscape. 38CC asked him for something. Because there are so many clearly recognizable visual elements visible in that area that even an aerial photo will not easily lead to abstraction, De Ruijter has opted for a different, experimental angle. For years he has been thinking about having pigeons recorded. 38CC's request gave him the opportunity to realize that idea. The plan was to equip a pigeon with an ultra-light video camera the size of a credit card and release it on top of the Bacinol building. animal can fly in a straight line over the railway zone to its home port in Overschie. However, when the pigeon is released, the artist also loses control. The pigeon, although sponsored by the N S, turned out to hardly fly over the station and rail, but to head home via the city and the highway. De Ruijter has processed the result of the flights carried out into two special video works. "
