"The work of the Delft photographer Willem van den Hoed is characterized by recurring architectural themes: the interior, the exterior and the glass that separates the two spaces. This results in large, razor-sharp photos, composed of many smaller photos, whereby Van den Hoed uses contemporary digital manipulation techniques such as a fine painter's brush. He turns desolate hotel rooms into still lifes of light switches, wallpaper, sheets, telephones, curtains, window sills, double glazing and the worldwide view of religion play a major role. The exhibition 'Capsules' in 38CC was part of a special double exhibition of the work of Willem van den Hoed. In the same period, Galerie de Zaal showed the exhibition '4909, 4808 & 4814. "
