"With sugar, glitter and fake flowers and plants, Pip & Pop will transform 38CC this summer into a fairytale landscape. Her Uncertain Universes is based on historical folk tales about quests for utopian worlds. One of these utopias is Luilekkerland, where sugar rains and the streets are paved with pastries. You don't have to do anything but feed on the abundant food. However, has not the fairytale Hansel and Gretel taught us that sweet facades can hide bitter content? What lies behind this alluring dream world Uncertain Universes? " Guest curators Jip Hinten and Veerle Driessen

"The empty promise of sugar fascinates Tanya Schultz. Many are seduced by sweets, but the satisfaction is only short-lived. Schultz studied visual arts in Western Australia and has been creating brightly colored installations under the pseudonym Pip & Pop since 2007. She researches in her work themes such as utopian dreams, fleeting pleasure and wish-fulfillment. Her often fading installations enjoy worldwide fame. "
