Triple Blue (last sms before death carved in porcelain in microscopic letters) Sebastian & Christoph Mügge 21.01-01.04.2024
A painter, a microbiologist, and a legal scholar from the seventeenth century, together with the world-famous blue-and-white porcelain, form the core of Triple Blue (Last SMS Before Death, Carved in Porcelain in Microscopic Letters). An exhibition in which the two Swedish artists Christoph & Sebastian Mügge examine typical Delft concepts and the history of the city in their own unique way. Although they had never visited Delft before, the image of the city shaped by our contemporary view of history appealed to their imagination. Using online research and a rich imagination, they introduce us to the three Delft historical figures in a completely new way: Johannes Vermeer, Antonie van Leeuwenhoek and Hugo Grotius. With a space-filling installation, the Mügge brothers transformed 38CC into an interdisciplinary time capsule that interweaves past and present. .
