"We encounter them every day. Spaces that have so little individuality that they can be exchanged or even go unnoticed. You will find such non-descript spaces in office buildings, in hospitals, in the deserted corridors of a hotel or at an airport. Marleen Sleeuwits has been fascinated by such spaces for about ten years, capturing them in photographs, deconstructing them as a sculptor and using existing photo works and sculptures to create a new space to her will. In recent years she has been building site-specific installations using existing photo works. She adds new interventions to this, in such a way that an inextricable accumulation is created, which is inviting without actually being able to comprehend the space. The alienation that arises through her interventions makes the viewer look again. space are given a different dimension.
