Atelier 38

Final presentation during the weekend of September 12-14

This summer, part of exhibition space 38CC has been transformed into a temporary creative hub for young people: Atelier 38. Five young makers have been working there on their own projects under the guidance of two creative coaches. Participants Salomé, Marenthe, Lot, Merel, and Imara will present the results of their efforts this summer during the weekend of September 12–14 at 38CC; which also marks the final weekend of the exhibition Bobbi’s Summer School.

The only assignment given to the participants by coaches Nathan Douenburg and Helena Ligtenberg was that they should—and even must—claim lots of space. This resulted in diverse projects including a gigantic felted object inspired by the famous Delft Blue, a floating jellyfish of monstrous proportions, and a painting that unfolds not on canvas but across a large cabinet.

Everyone is welcome to take a look inside the atelier, chat with the participants to learn more about their artworks, or join one of the activities being organized. Atelier 38 can be visited during 38CC’s regular opening hours (Wednesday through Sunday, 1:00–5:00 PM). More information about the activities during the closing weekend will follow on our social media channels and website.

Atelier 38 is part of GenCC, the program developed for and by young people at 38CC.
